Kraków’s Lajkonik with a battery supply system by Medcom

The beginning of this year saw the first test runs of Stadler’s tram for Kraków. The tram is the first of fifty modern vehicles that will be able to move around the capital of the Małopolska region without using the overhead contact line thanks to Medcom’s battery supply system. All of the trams are to be delivered by the end of 2020.

The first Polish hybrid multiple unit with power electronics by Medcom

The official premiere of Newag’s new vehicle – Impuls 36WEh, equipped with Medcom’s power electronics – took place at this year’s TRAKO International Railway Fair. The new Impuls is a three-car articulated multiple unit which may function as an electric train (powered from the traction power network with the use of a pantograph) or as a diesel train, which enables it to drive on sections of the route where there is no overhead contact line. The vehicle has a holding capacity of about 330 passengers and can move at a speed of up to 160 kph.

TRAKO 2019: Medcom wins awards for eco-friendly solutions and modern technologies

The 13th edition of the TRAKO International Railway Fair was held in September 2019. Medcom received a Grand Prix and distinctions for its innovative power electronic devices, as well as a special award from the Rzeczpospolita daily’s editorial team and the logistyka.rp.pl portal, for its contribution to the development of eco-friendly, zero-emission public transport.
