A brief account of Rzeczpospolita’s debate: “Electromobility without electricity? How to boost the electric revolution?”

At the end of April, Paweł Choduń, Vice-President at MEDCOM, took part in a debate entitled: “Electromobility without electricity? How to boost the electric revolution?” organized as part of the “Walka o klimat” (Fight for the Climate) project initiated by the Rzeczpospolita daily. In a discussion held by Michał Niewiadomski, editor of the Economy & Market section, he talked about the Polish manufacturers’ readiness for public transport electrification and the benefits that such investments bring.

The hybrid Impuls 2 with MEDCOM’s drive has already hit the tracks

The first hybrid railway vehicles – Impuls 2 – are already on the move. Manufactured by NEWAG for the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and equipped with Medcom’s state-of-the-art propulsion systems, they have been running along the non-electrified railway line between Szczecin and Kołobrzeg, among others, since January.

Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric with Medcom’s SiC technology

Due to the epidemic situation, the premiere of Urbino 15 LE electric was held online, on 20 October 2020. The new Solaris bus model was equipped, among others, with the SiC propulsion system manufactured by Medcom. Its use makes it possible to reduce energy consumption by up to 13% compared to the leading technologies used to date.

Medcom’s charging stations for Poznań’s e-buses

Medcom will deliver 25 electric charging stations for electric buses operated by MPK (Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacyjne) in Poznań. The new chargers will be installed at the Osiedle Sobieskiego, Garbary, and Górczyn bus terminals, as well as at the Kacza depot. This is yet another project carried out by Medcom for Poznań’s public transport – the city has been investing heavily in electromobility and modern technologies for quite some time now.

Medcom as the Technological Partner of the European Rolling Stock Forum 2020

The European Rolling Stock Forum is the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe devoted to the topic of modern rolling stock. Medcom became the official Technological Partner of the 7th edition of the Forum, during which the main directions of development of the rolling stock market and innovative technologies used to build modern railway transport were discussed.
